The Action Center gave school supplies to more than 5,000 children in 2011

This year, we're anticipating 5,000 or more in need during the August distribution.

For over 10 years, the Action Center has provided low-income children with the school supplies they need to be successful in the classroom.  Through this new donation website, you can make a tax-deductible donation toward a supply pack that will provide local students with necessary school supplies.

We are excited to announce that the Foundation for Excellence in Learning and Education (www.FELAE.org) has agreed to match - up to $10,000 -  any donation you make to this campaign.  This will enable us to increase the impact of your giving, and ensure students have the supplies they need to learn throughout the year.

Help the Action Center maximize the potential to educate in Jefferson County by making a donation toward it's School Supply Distribution. The back to school season for children and their parents is a dynamic time marked by excitement, anxiety, anticipation, and is undoubtedly expensive. For the Action Center's clients, purchasing school supplies is often a seasonal expense that they choose over paying rent or utilities - falling further into a crisis situation.
